The entire world community was eagerly awaiting this premiere – the world saw the twelfth generation Toyota Corolla, which is already available for rent at our company. The debut took place in November 2018 in China, at the Guangzhou Auto Show, and at the same time in the USA (Carmel-by-the-Sea). Did it live up to the public’s expectations?

What did the new Corolla look like?

In its presentation, the manufacturer claims this model indicates a truly dynamic style and promises every driver incredible driving pleasure. And it’s hard to disagree with this; this is the most important aspect of renting a Corolla.

The sedan looks even more solid and prestigious than previous models, which, just for a minute, were sold in a total of more than 40 million cars, which is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. In our car rental, this car has always been a bestseller in the middle class. But, unlike previous models, the exterior of the new Corolla is devoid of excessive aggressiveness and super-sportiness; instead, it is somewhat softened by the unique front part, updated bumpers, optics, fenders, hood, and the general relief of the stern.

What pleases is that while maintaining the length of the wheelbase (2.7 m), the interior turned out to be even more spacious and looks stylish and modern. The advantage of renting a Corolla is that it has lost its excessive Asian flashiness. Thanks to the low window line, thin windshield pillars, and slightly changed locations of the rearview mirrors, the overall view from the driver’s seat has improved. The instrument panel is decorated with an 8-inch multimedia system monitor, a 7-inch information display, climate control system controls, and other levers, which are key when choosing this car for rent.

Among the innovations in renting a 12th-generation Corolla is the new TNGA (GA-C) platform. The car has a lower center of gravity, a reinforced body (by 60%), and a new multi-link rear suspension. This makes the car easier to drive, improves its main driving characteristics, and retains one of the main features of Toyota rental — unrivaled comfort.

The engine line has received changes: the manufacturer left only a powerful naturally aspirated engine with a volume of 1.6 l / 132 hp. The new model, available for car rental at RentDrive, is equipped with an active safety system (Toyota Safety Sense complex) and an online support service, which provides additional safety and adds confidence behind the wheel. Fuel consumption is 6.2 l / 100 km.
